Any nerd fighters doing nanowrimo?

I'm doing it for the first time this year... anyone have any tips

I'm doing it for the first time this year, and if I do get a full story by the end of NaNoWriMo, and I can use December as NaNoEdMo, I'll make January NaNoSelfPubMo.

Make February NaShoStoWriMo and write a Collection of short stories, March NaShoStoEdMo, April NaShoStoSelfPubMo.

May will be NaDriLiHeMo, because at this point our livers will be use to a 3 month cycle of Drinking like Hemmingway. June NaReHabMo, July Na???Mo where I try to remember what I did for the past 9 months.

I (almost) did it last year, got up to 15K words then started another story. So hard to keep focused on one tale.

Wow, I'd go but one, I doubt it's in Australia, second I always write the first chapter then get bored.

1. it is in Australia, but IntNoWriMo doesn't have the same ring.
b. you could make the first chapter really long.
OR
III. Write each chapter thinking of them as short stories that are sequels of each other.

Man, I'd be all down for this if they didn't do it in goddamn November. >:[

I did some quick math (admittedly with a calculator) and found that to make the fifty-thousand word count, one has to write roughly seventeen-hundred words a day all month. One thousand six-hundred and sixty-six point six repeating words, exactly. I'm not really sure I could ever do that.

My friend did Nanowrimo and that's how I found out about it. I really want to this year but I'm afraid that I won't make it! I do bad under pressure. But my friend said she just set aside time to write and had a word goal everyday. I guess that advice was already given... =) I hope you enjoy it!

I really wanted to do it November '08, but we had tonnes of mock exams, and I was ill. Me and a couple of friends are giving it a go over summer, and I'm really looking forward to it, but I can't think of a plot! And I think we're starting it July 1st! Tips would be welcome, too.
