Nerdfighters

I thought about putting this is the general band thread but I didn't think I'd get as many answers that way. A Nerdfighter friend of mine recently asked me to help name her horn because it didn't have one. I was shocked that it was nameless.
But not too long ago I aquired a bass clarinet.
And it needs a name.
Actually, I'm not even sure whether it's a boy or a girl.
So perhaps you could suggest two names.
Thanks so much. Cheers!

What an interesting topic. I named my clarinet Sky. I named it this because of her tone. Soft and gentle. it was a tenor. If I gad a bass Clarinet, i think I would name her Threar with the "eh'' sound. (threhr) with the first r slightly rolled. Threar's definition is "A rowan tree, or a mountain ash. The language is Lapine from The novel by Richard Adams called "Watership Down" It is the language that the rabits speak. Well, I hope that helped you in some way, and good luck!

Sincerely,
Sly
What an interesting idea.
Alfonzo thanks you for his name. :)

I'm not very good at naming inanimate objects, but I suggest the name Augustus, because it "Means "great" or "venerable", derived from Latin augere "to increase"." Octavian was called this, and you can play in different octaves. Maybe just go with Octavian. Both sound very epic, and I would expect that your clarinet is epic, because an awesome nerdfighter plays it!
i dont know about band but in orchestra i named my viola bindi!
...my tuba is nameless....help?!
Charlie or Charli!
I guess I wasn't a very good band kid. I played oboe for 9 years and it never once got a name.
My piccolo is Al Fabio, and my mellophone is Malfroy. . . my flute is Jim. I don't even know why. My friend has a bass clairnet, but he's unoriginal and named her Claire.
My flute's official name is Cirrus because his tone reminds me of clouds, but usually I call him baby.
For some reason I hear a bass clarinet and think an "r" sound. So, I suggest Roan for a boy bass clarinet and Roxanne for a girl.
Hope your marching season went well. Have fun with your new instrument.
