WEREWOLVES FTW!

Actually, apart from Twilight and the original Dracula movie, I have basically no experience with vampires as main characters. I never read/watched any of the other many many series/movies about them. It's not that I don't like them, they just never really interested me.

I'm sorry, I was totally just wondering why you called him a mossy-thing... and then I realized you meant lycan... and it made me giggle. It was just the visual of a were-mossy person...

I like the vampires Ive "come over". Which is in Twilight, and Queen of the damned.
Edward Cullen in twilight is so wonderful, and Lestat is so.... Hot. :P
I love the mystery about vampires, but I dont really know much about them.
Anne Rice made me fall in love with the vampire.

They just seem like such deep and fascinating creatures...forced to live forever, ageless, powerful, ex-humans doomed to kill for all eternity or until living forever drives them mad or they are faced with the few things that can kill them. I really enjoyed the stories of two specific vampires: Marius and Louis. They were just so amazing and emotional...not that the others weren't though. I simply fell in love with Armand. Oh, and Lestat the musical is one of my favorites. :)

I dislike the writings of Stephanie Meyer, however.
I like Lestat, and Armand.

I like vampire who is powerful yet choose to be "nice".
I also love Ann Rice, though I have read relatively few of her books. For sure check out Pandora - its got some nice vampire erotica in it - though, thats not the whole point of the book - the story is pretty sweet. I also love the Strahd books by P.N. Elrod - they are in the Ravenloft universe.

And for the record - I think I would take up an offer to become a vampire - proof of sweet powers required though :)
The only vampire books I've read are Twilight (etc.), The Vampire Diaries, and Interview With the Vampire/The Vampire Lesat/The Vampire Armand (but I can't stand Anne Rice). Anyway, if anyone has recomendations of vampire books/movies, I appreciate it.

I love vampires, too. My fav so far are the ones from Twilight because they don't have the usual setbacks (meaning sunlight) as most do.
Oh, another of my fav vampire is in Rob Thurman's Nightlife/Moonshine/Madhouse. The vampires in those books are born, not changed; they need a massive coat of sunscreen to go out in the daylight; and they take large doses of iron pills to offset their iron-deficiency, which is why ancient vampires needed human blood.
