Which one do you think looks better and which will you buy? Why? What do you think this says about your personality? What do you think the way in which the cover girl was "radically misapprehended" on your chosen cover?

—My favorite is the blue one. It's more subdued, and it looks like it has more depth. Her eyes even look totally different, more clear. Also, whenever I'm reading a brightly colored book (say, The Keys to the Golden Firebird) people keep grabbing the book to see the title and ask me annoying questions like "is it good?" Well, I don't know, considering I can't read it, thanks to you.
—I think this says that I like blending in. The girl on the cover is overlayed with a rustic background. The edges of her are blurred. Everything is transparent, like the text, her eyes, her lips, even.
—I think the girl (is her name Margot? someone comment back to answer, please) is sometimes mistaken as one who blends into the wall. Someone rustic and tough, dark and subdued.

EDIT: Her name's Margo.

i actually like the yellow better. am i the only one? i think there's a nice kind of juxtaposition between her expression and the yellow color, which really fits with being ""radically misapprehended." also there's just something about the blue one i don't like, it's too monotone and just, bleh. i don't like it as much. of course i might feel differently after i read it and probably will get both covers.

(but i totally hate that to when you're reading a book and someone takes it from you are just won't stop asking you questions. you're just like, "maybe i would now if you would leave me alone to read it!!!!!!." i like talking to people about what i'm reading, but not while i'm reading.)

I think there's much juxtaposition on either cover. Yellow means hope, courage, and relaxation. You don't think she shows any of those qualities on this cover?

(And sometimes, they act like I'm the rude one, when they were the ones bothering me, when I ask them for my book back and for them to leave me alone!)

I reeeally love the blue. Right away, I was like "MUST HAVE BLUE ONE!"
It's much more...I don't know how to explain it. Sad? Mysterious? Intriguing?

The yellow one is too...happy XD and normal...and I'd start to feel like I'm reading all of those cheesy love novels my mother reads with a clear, solid background and scrowled font on the front and a picture of one, random object in the center...You know, those kinds of books >.>

Yeah, I know what you mean.

I'm going to put both on the floor, try to shuffle them around, then I'll stand up, run around the book case, close my eyes and spin around in a circle until I'm dizzy enough to not know where they are, then I'll sit on the floor and pick up whichever one I touch first and buy that one. One because I think since she's being misapprehended, what I think of the picture of the girl on the cover is wrong anyway so its best to pick indiscriminately. Two because I enjoy getting weird looks from bookstore people. Three because I'm just that indecisive, I'd be there all night trying to decide which one was better. I have no idea what that says about me except that maybe I know what its like to be misjudged and am reluctant to make the same kind of mistake about someone else... and I have horrible decision making skills and am terrified of being wrong about ANYTHING.

I always do that sort of thing and then once I've decided which one to buy I'm like "wait, but I like that one too!!" boo indecisiveness.

If I weren't planning on buying them both, I'd probably send my dad to the store to get it for so he'd choose. I have major decisophobia.

I'm in favour of the yellow cover. I just enjoy things that are bright and shiny. Even though the book doesn't seem to have a bright and shiny tone. I like to be asked about what I'm reading so I can tell everyone about how great John's writing is!

OK so the thing is I think the blue one is better - it definitely feels like it has more depth and such - but I'm going to get the yellow one. It's not that I have an adversion to anything dark or creepy (my shelf full of Stephen King is a testimony to that) but... I don't know. I just want the yellow one. Maybe my subconscious thinks that it'll constantly be polishing the front of the blue one, thinking that I'll somehow manage to get the dirt off :)

I'll probably end up buying them both =] I kinda like the blue better, though.

I think the blue looks best.

In natural taste, I find the blue one more inviting.
I think people think this because it looks like she has more to say. If she looks sad, you think, "What's happened?" while if she's just smiling, you think, "Well, she had a good day." Also, being a teenager, I'm drawn more to sad angsty things, I'll admit. But I feel like for those exact reasons, I'm going to buy the yellow one. There are so many sad teen books. Also, I like yellow. I can't help feeling that there has to be a reason why she looks the way she does on the yellow cover.

The reason people may favor the blue one, is that blue is closer to green than yellow is, and green is the most relaxing color to the human eye. While yellow promotes higher blood pressure and in some cases discomfort.
I had to write a newspaper sidebar article, so that's how I know.

So I like the blue one more naturally, but I want to have an acquired taste in the yellow one.
