Have you ever heard someone make a comment that was just stupid? it could be stupid because of the situation(like you were talking about what a word means for 10 minutes, then the person asked what it meant again(and they actually mean it, they really don't know)) or ignorant (like when someone in my class made a comment about how it was random that the Iraqis don't like the US!sorry to bring politics into it...)
So yeah... stupidest comment you've ever heard.

That's completely true. However, it is the BEST theory we have so far.

Remember that everything is always a theory until it is proven wrong, some theories are highly accepted, such as "All metals expand when heated" - but as soon as someone discovers a metal which does not expand when heated, that theory is then proven incorrect. We thought that the atom was the smallest "thing" on earth, until we were able to bust an atom open and all of this other "stuff" came out.

Actually, it's only a hypothesis until it is tested using valid scientific method and your peers are able to recreate your results. Only then is it a theory. And then it's a responsibility of science to remind itself that's only the best guess we have so far and it can always change with any new discovery (microscopes, DNA, dark energy...).

I think it would qualify for this thread to make fun of someone for saying evolution is only a theory.

In my Christian Morality Class (I'm required to take it, it wasn't an elective or anything DX) an extra-credit question on our quiz was to write the name of the last book of the Bible.

This one girl wrote "Index." She was totally serious too.
