Sorry, I'm a very big fan and wondered if my fellow Nerdfighters were too? If so, what are your favourite films of his?

Mine are: Sweeney Todd, Sleepy Hollow, Corpse Bride, NBC, Edward Scissorhands, Beetlejuice, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory...
I just realised that I'm gonna end up listing every one of his films.

Sleepy Hollow, Corpse Bride, Sweeney Todd, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Nightmare Before Xmas. Yep. That's my faves. =)

Tim Burton is awesome, so awesome that awesome may be an understatement...
Favourite films of his, basically all of them I've seen, I've not seen Cabin Boy, which he produced..Wow that's the only one heh, I've not seen all his short films either.

Tim Burton is totally made of awesome :) i LOVE Nightmare Before Christmas, one of my fave things on the planet. But you know what is really amazing? this little animation on the NBC dvd about a 7 year old boy who thinks he's this retro horror star - one of the creepiest things i have ever seen :-s

I personally love Tim Burton...but I can understand why people wouldn't like him. His movies aren't exactly cheery (in mood, tone, setting, anything really).

When I saw my first Tim Burton film (besides Nightmare), I was like "What--what is this? Why--why does everything look/feel/seem so...so...so...odd?" And then I was like "clearly he's amazing."

But yeah...Tim Burton can be an acquired taste I guess.

No, I kid.

But seriously...there's only so many plot lines...and all directors/writers/etc exploit them...immensly. Plot lines are recyclable. (Edit: I personally do not see how the plot lines between Big Fish, Batman and Edward Scissorhands are the same).

The "awkward, semi-scary, always off killter" theme is just his style...all directors have styles, eh?

Okay, so what I'm trying to say, is hate him for his style, not necessarily the plot lines.

But it kind of makes me angry that the emo-trend has tapped into Tim Burton...because Tim Burton was way, way before emo. Calling Tim Burton emo is like calling Hamlet or Poe or Dickinson emo (they are...but you just don't call them that...cause they're brilliant).

I've always thought of Harry Potter as emo... all angsty and obnoxious... I've always considered Burton more gothic than anything, especially back when I was in high school and had goth friends. Before there even was an 'emo' anything...
