Nerdfighters

This is probably a terrible idea because someone will get offended, but I like to try to not be afraid of hurting people's feelings.

So there is a forum for name you WOULD name your kids, but what are names you WOULD NEVER name your kids? Try to list some common American names you would never name your kids... Give a reason if you feel like it.

For instance, I would never name my kids:
* Danielle (I hated this girl named Danielle growing up)
* Jennifer (I knew way too many in my school district)
* James (Had a crush on this boy and then became crushed :/)
* Kevin (I once knew a douche bag named Kevin and no matter how many non-douche bags named Kevin I meet, Kevin holds a tool status to it...)

Hmm...not Aidan or anything that rhymes with it. There are way too many Aidans, Braydons, Caydons, Jaydens/Jaidons, where I work. It's like people thought it would still be a unique name if they just added another letter.

Actually, any of the new "unique" sounding names are pretty much off my list. These kind of names used to be normal until people changed the spellings to something weird. (Ryann, Camryn, Kamryn, Kaydee, etc.)
Gertrude, Helga, Ursula, Alfonzo, Douglas, and more that I can't think of.
Nethanial
superfly

(heh. Weird Al song.)
Meggy........
Let's see...

Again, ALBUS SEVERUS. HUGO. (Oh, Hermione, I weep for that sad, sad moment when you thought up the name Hugo. But I blame JKR more). Victoire wasn't so bad -- kinda pretty, but not for me.

Melvin. My grandpa is named Melvin. Or Rodney, my other grandpa... and while we're on grandparents -- I wouldn't name my children Virginia or Susan. I am descended from people with very unfortunate names.

I wouldn't name a kid Shane, because that's the name of one of my ex-boyfriends. There's a kid in my Spanish class named Shane, and whenever the teacher calls on him I die a little inside.

Joel. It just looks and sounds funny.

Elizabeth -- sounds pretentious. Reminds me of English literature (Pride and Prejudice, anyone?)

Any character name from Twilight. Sadly, I really liked Isabella, but if I want to use it I'll have to get my daughter used to being called Isabella. No Bellas for me. I like the books, but I don't want to seem like a lemming.

Naomi. Sounds kinda pretty, but... I don't know. It's too... exotic? Foreign? To me it seems like an Indian name (okay, okay, Native American), but I don't know why.
I'm still immature enough to laugh at the name Virginia.

For Isabella, you could call her Izzy, or something like that.

And, funnily enough, every single Naomi I've met (granted, that is only three) is Indian (not Native American). It's weird.
Hey my names Elizabeth! and i quite like it actually, though i tell everyone i hate it and go by Libby instead lol I think it's because when i was young my nan would never call me ANYthing but Elizabeth! Even when i was called Libby by everyone else that knew me! so i hate it on principle lol

Harvey, Shane, John, Victoria, Mark, Knotweed, Rose, Philip, Ben, Kayleigh, Ashley, Connor. anything like that, hate plain names especially, so boring!

love albus severus btw, may consider calling my first born that! lol and Blue, Lily, Alistair, Chase n Jack. (Lily i liked before Harry Potter, because i always wished i was called that! Alistair i may have stolen from alistair moody.. :P Unfortunatly i've always loved the name Harry since i was little, but would'nt call any child that now cos of Potter! It's a bit more noticeable than alistair lol
Henrietta. It was my grandmothers name. It's so easy to call her Grandma Henry
Edward: thanks to a certain book series I've come to despise that name.

Geoffrey: I don't know why I just really dislike that name

Wanda: Scarlet Witch just really bugs me.

Phillip: Just how it's pronounced Fill-up... fill-up what?
Jesus: So first century!
John. not that it's a bad name, but really really common. i have 7 in my phone.
Madison. it's a city, not a girls name.
It was a boy's name before it was a girl's name, and most certainly before it was ever a city (or street).
