Nerdfighters

I have been watching B2.0 for about a year, soaking in all that YouTube awesomeness. (1) I just joined NF.COM a week ago or so, and while looking at the main page I saw a link to John's Books. I followed it and there was somewhere along there a Q and A about his book An Abundance of Katherine's.(2) After reading the Q and A I went to Amazon and bought a copy. Now keep in mind while I love to read I have dyslexia,(3) so doing so is slow at best, if the subject matter is good and keeps my focus. If not, well lets just say there have been a few books I could not get through. This book is great, though it is not close to my normal genre. Actually, aside from some books by Patrick F. McManus (4) I have only ever read Sci-fi, fantasy or role playing(rpg). I am only about a fourth of the way through the book now, but I can't wait to see how it ends. If there are nerdfighters out there that have not read it yet, go to a library or head to Amazon and get a copy. It is well worth the time or money. Thanks John for a really cool experience of reading joy.

1: I love that awesomeness is in this forum's dictionary. 2: It also happens that my mother was named Katherine. 3: I had to ask my wife how to spell it yet again, spelling is also a down-fall of the learning disability. 4: Mostly known for his humorous short story's about hunting, fishing, camping, general outdoor stuff, most of which I don't do, so it's fun to read about them.

I finished the book, stayed up all night reading it. Some bits I loved are...

A: "I'm not a Terrorist." used as a way of greeting.
B: The use of the word Fug and the explanation of why it was used.
C: Stuff about drinking water... "Most experts agree that unless there's something horribly with you, you should just drink water whenever you're-get this-thirsty."

There where more moments that made me LOL, no really, actually, laugh out loud. But I don't want to post a spoiler here. But I honestly have to say that this is one of the quickest books I have ever read, honestly would be in my top 5.
