i can`t remember if it was NatureGeek, Deb, or Mel, but at least one of you gerds is responsible for pointing me to this thing i now rant about, TED, so whoever it is, i owe i huge THANK YOU! For those of you who haven't visited TED yet, I urge you to.
For anyone asking? TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design, and is in essence a forum for the brainiacs of the globe to get together once a year in Californ.i.a. and present their awesomeness to their peers. And now you can see every one of those presentations (roughly 20 minutes each...) here.
So I want to know which ones you like. Lets talk about that.
I'll start, natch.
oh, and Dave Eggers
besides being someone i fell in love with while reading his first book, he is an amazing human being. if you have not read "a heartbreaking work of staggering genius"... well, you should. It's HIS story and was nominated for a Pulizer. I read it in 2000 (thanks Mel!). All of his books are amazing. He is amazing. And nerdfighters will love all the Pirate references!!!!
watch it. love him. get involved with kids and reading all you nerdfighter writers!!!
an instant fave. awesome.
i love her. oh, the vag. it never gets any credit.
and what she says at the end... my own philosophies are very similar.
nice one - thanks deb, you rock, as always.
its hot today. how are you??
