Permalink Reply by Danno on July 26, 2012 at 6:36pm maybe this is my experience talking, but if one was read to as a child, i really don't think they would have the ability to remember the first book they loved.
Permalink Reply by Brittany Planty on July 27, 2012 at 4:41am I'm not sure exactly when I got obsessed with reading in the first, but I think around the second grade I got really involved in the Junie B. Jones books. Although I remember having my mind sort of blown by Watership Down and His Dark Materials in middle school.
Permalink Reply by Rachel Hodes on July 27, 2012 at 5:27pm Harry Potter, no question. I read it (my parents with me) a few months after I learned to read, when I was 5...I completely fell in love.
Permalink Reply by Natalie West on August 3, 2012 at 9:32pm I grew up with Harry Potter...no need to explain :)
Besides HP, I love books more than life but I've never really became obsessed with a book or series, just loved them...until now. The second book in the Bloodlines series, 'The Golden Lily' by Richelle Mead...I love this book so much that it's breaking apart already (the advanced reader's addition one thats a paperback). When I got given that, I finished the book in 4 hours, and I've reread it at least 17 times by now...it's safe to say it is an obsession :)
And it's a vampire book...and I don't even like vampires, but I give this one an exception :)
Permalink Reply by Geoff on August 4, 2012 at 9:37am Either Eragon or Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Maybe The Mortal Instruments as well.
Permalink Reply by Summer Thyme on August 8, 2012 at 11:04am Matilda! I remember checking this book out nearly every time my mom and I went to the library! This started my Roald Dahl kick, but Matilda was always my favorite.
Permalink Reply by Lydia Havens on August 8, 2012 at 7:42pm There was this book series that probably stopped about eight years ago called Dear America, which were historical fiction diaries. I was OBSESSED with those. They were great, and really made me love reading. :)
Permalink Reply by Sarah Thomas on August 9, 2012 at 3:01pm Oh my god, I love the Stravaganza series! Adored it when I was younger :D
Permalink Reply by BookCaseJim on August 9, 2012 at 4:42pm I read Battle Cry by Leon Uris in grade 7, I guess I was 12/13. Wanted to join the Marines for years after and plagiarized a big part of it for a creative writing project that year because I wanted to share its awesomeness. Reading that, years later, I have no idea how the teacher thought I wrote it.
Permalink Reply by Brandon Lee Wade on August 10, 2012 at 5:08pm Easy question my first book obsession was with "The Secrets of Droon" even at a young age I was consuming them in one day. It was like a holiday each time a new one came out.
Permalink Reply by Mark Bayuga on August 11, 2012 at 3:36am I fell in love with The Littles by John Peterson in the 2nd grade. I thirsted for those books with a passion, I read all of them that we had in our library. Then I discovered that maybe other books could be like that, and soon enough I was the hungriest reader in class, still am.
Aw, shoutout to my 2nd grade teacher lol.
