First book you got obsessed about?

Yes, the title pretty much speaks for itself but,

Being the Nerds we are, I believe we have all been obsessed with an amount of books, Harry potter, Twilight, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and the list could go on for AGES.

My question is obviously 'Which book was the first book you fell completely in love with?'

My first bookcrush was Stravaganza (the whole serie) by Mary Hoffman.
It's about normal people that travel through time and space at night when they go to sleep to... Kind'f an another dimensions Italy centuries ago, called Talia ^^)

I think I read it first at the age of.. 11, 12 maybe?

Well a series of books that I became obsessed with in 1st grade was Nancy Drew. Even though they were too easy for me, I grew out of them around 3rd grade. People started calling me Nancy Drew in my class because I read it so much :D

I'd have to say that series as well. I went to the library a few weeks ago, and realized that my Nancy Drew collection was bigger than theirs.
Hmm... I wonder where the bag with them went when we moved..

I followed a similar trend around third grade or so.  Got up to something in the mid-thirties.  My favorite was the Thanksgiving one.  Classic.

Same here. "The Spider Sapphire Mystery" was my favourite, but for some reason I don't remember the story at all. I think I was obsessed more with the cover at that time which is why I read it so much. I first got into Nancy Drew in grade 3 when my library gave away free books (renovating) and I got a couple.

Nancy Drew was the first novel series I got into, but before that I was absolutely obsessed with Archie comics.

My first book obsession was the Little House series which lasted all throughout elementary. Then it went to A Series of Unfortunate Events, but I stopped reading them at around book 8 because I became bored with the story.

I think the very very first book I was obsessed with was this book of poems called "Under the Sun and Moon" by Margaret Wise Brown. My kindergarten teacher had a copy in her classroom, and I would read it all the time - to a point where I got in trouble for it! Finally I got a copy of my own. I still have it somewhere.

Then when I'd just turned seven, I discovered Harry Potter...and there was no turning back.
Seriously. I had read all four of the then-published books five times by the time I turned eight. My life pretty much revolved around it...

First book obsession sorry to sound redundant, but Harry Potter. That means complete obessions. I think I really liked another series called The Baily School Kids or something like that, where their teachers would turn out to be aliens or something. But i was really obsessed with them.

oh, the Bailey School Kids series! yes! i remember them! in every book one of the kids was always like, "Hey, Mr./Mrs So-an-so is an alien/monster! omfg!"
