Nerdfighters

Hello all! I'm not terribly active on the Ning, but am an avid watcher and B2.0 Nerdfighter...obviously!

I'm originally from Philadelphia PA....but I just moved to South Korea!!!

I have a job teaching English in a city called Gwangju (or Kwangju...Gs and Ks are interchangable) in South Korea, and I just wanted to see if there are any Nerdfighters being awesome in this part of the world!

So if you're loving life and living the Korean dream, let me know!!! Or loving life and living the dream in fairly close proximity to South Korea as well...

Also - if you are interested in living abroad, or teaching English in another country, I'm working on a blog about culture shock and all the crazy stuff that goes along with moving to another country. If you're at all interested, I'll be sure to update!

You are sooo lucky!!!!
Wow.. that sounds amazing. =] But i would like to ask.. are you teaching them English.. or American, 'cause there's a huge difference. lol
Well actually different countries learn different kinds of English. For example, many Middle Eastern countries (Turkey, UEA, and even India, etc.) learn British English. Some places like Japan request specifically Canadian English. But most Far Eastern countries specify American or Canadian English. So I do teach them some colloquialisms and idioms, but I'm supposed to because basically they are listening to me speak so they can eventually go to university in America. Not many places specify Australian English, because I think their accent might be hard for people with an Asian language background to pick up.

But yeah it's pretty amazing just kickin' it Korean style.

I'm moving to Gwangju at the end of the month! Anyone still out there? Looking for friends! :D
