Nerdfighters

I have grapheme-color, sound-color, and personality-color synesthesia. Basically it means that the nerves in my head are connected slightly differently than normally. I see lots of colors in my head--every number and letter has a different color, I see different colors of sounds (music is beautiful), and people each have their own color too.

Studies seem suggest that as many as 1 in 20 people have synesthesia (or has few as 1 in 20000). Most people who have it aren't really aware of the fact that they have it, I assumed that everybody saw the world the way I did until I read about the condition in my psychology class!

So are there any other nerdfighters with synesthesia?

Every time I read your comment I think it says "inedible" and I think "Well, duh." xD And then I realize my mistake.

Oh man...
I have a degree of OLP (ordinal linguistic personification) synesthesia. Personally, I automatically assign a personality and a gender to most inanimate objects. I never knew that other people didn't think this way, until I read about it either.

Wow, I've read about that type but never ever thought I'd meet somebody with it.

I don't mean to be rude, but for me numbers also have complete personalities. Sometimes when I'm bored in math class I imagine them them interacting, and when I was little I even wrote down stories of what happens when 3 met 9...do you ever do anything like that?

I used to do that sometimes, but with letters. :)

I used to do that in math all the time. Some of the numbers just don't get along and have to be seperated.

I do that with numbers and letters. I never realized it could be a "condition" haha. I just think we're special, awesome, cool. All of those things.

i have a few types of synesthesia; and you're right, music is beautiful. i have all the same types that you do, plus i have OLP as well. it's the best thing in the world. I can't imagine living without it.

there's a character who does that in...gah, can't remember name of the books right now, but it's a canadian trilogy about a british girl who comes to toronto during wwii. her name is norah and she has very firm ideas about the personalities of numbers. hm, now i want to read those books again and see if there's any other evidence of synaesthesia...

6 is aftraid of 7. That's because 7 8 9.
Six is afraid of Seven. That's because Seven Ate Nine.
Sorry someone had to say it.

I suppose so ^^D Couldn't help yourself, could you?

Actually I think it's just because 7 is pretty old and mighty while 6 is still a bit immature ;]
