Nerdfighters

I'm in a music rut. I listen to the same bands over and over. So! Please tell me what your favorite bands are, and what kind of music they play or if they sound like someone else. I like just about everything, with some random exceptions here and there.

EDIT: My favorite bands are Weezer, Muse, the White Stripes, Harry and the Potters, and the Shins. They're mostly indie pop/rockish, with Weezer being more rock sounding, Muse being more progressive, the White Stripes being a bit more bluesy, HatP being more wizard rock, and the Shins being more awesome.

Well, I do warn you, they were a Christian band if that is something to turn you off of them. Not goofy, praise stuff, a lot of goofy ,funny stuff.
Music's music. As long as it's good, I'll listen to it.
That's excellent to hear.
I'm glad we agree!
Indeed, with that in mind, can I offer you some country songs as well? Haha.
Go for it! Just no Johnny Cash, please. I'm so over "Ring Of Fire."
Wait, what? Really?

Well, one of my very favorites is Bob wills and his Texas Playboys. He was known as the King of Country Swing. Also, I'm not sure if you could find anything by them unless you went there, but The Bar-d Wranglers of the Bar-d Chuckwagon in Durango, Colorado are quite pleasing to the ear as well. Oh, and Commander Cody and his Lost Planet Airmen are pretty good as well.
no johnny cash? why? there's a million sonys other than ring of fire.
like . . . highwayman, mercy seat, 16 tonnes, god's gonna cut you down, country boy, lucky old sun, personal jesus etc etc etc
For whatever reason, I wasn't allowed to reply to your other answer, so I'm replying to this one.

I get that a lot with Johnny Cash. It's something with his voice. Just too lazy and drawl-y. If you know what I mean. I looked up Commander Cody and his Lost Planet Airmen but nothing came up on Limewire, so I'll look around online, because that is an AWESOME name!
Heck yeah it is. Oh, and sorry I wasn;t incredulous about the johnny cash thing, but the whole country recommendations thing. One of the Commander's best known songs is "Hot Rod Lincoln", or another is "Armadillo Stomp".
Oh, and how can you ever have enough Sousa(says the tuba player)?
Clarinet parts are never fun in Sousa marches. They all sound alike to me now.
