Nerdfighters

Okay, this is not hating on Nerdfighters, it's just been pissing me off lately.

Nerdfighters do have their own little hand symbol, BUT IT IS NOT THE SAME AS STAR TREK'S LIVE LONG AND PROSPER HAND SYMBOL, MKAY?
SO IF I DO THE LIVE LONG AND PROSPER HAND SYMBOL, I'M NOT NERDFIGHTING, I'M BEING A TREKKIE. STAR TREK CAME FIRST, NERD. IF YOU WERE TRULY AWESOME, YOU WOULD KNOW THAT.

This has just been really getting to me lately. My friend Caitlyn (who is a nerdfighter also) brought this awesome pen to school that had a giant Live Long and Prosper hand on it, and this other girl, called Tani (who is also a nerdfighter) was like "AW THAT IS SO COOL, NERDFIGHTERS!"
-.-

NO. NOT NERDFIGHTERS.
STAR TREK.

Just thought y'all should know.

i never watched star trek and i even know what it means!

oh, i have a prof named Volken... (sp)
Vulcan? HAHA AWESOME. I went as a Vulcan to a surrealist art exhibition at my school. I scared all the people away from my artworks...but I looked good, so it's okay. XD
It's definitely similar, but the LL&P sign and the Nerdfighters seem to have a difference in thumb placement. And the involvement of two hands crossing each other.

I don't know. Even though I grew up in the 90s and watched Star Trek: TNG (although I don't think there were Vulcans on TNG), I can understand if today's generation isn't that Trek savvy.

(ps Everyone go see the new movie in July! I worked on it and it should be awesome.)
You worked on it? That's pretty effing sweet! OHEMGEE Did you meet Zachary Quinto? Is he amazing? Is he fantastic? Is he made of win?

ZQ is already fantastic and made of win! Meeting him would just prove our point!

Because it's one hand, palm out, live long and prosper. Star Trek.
Two hands, palm down, across the chest, live long and prosper. Nerdfighters.

People should know the difference.
I KNOW. It makes me angry.

Agreed
