Nerdfighters

Last year I participated in a 50 book challenge and I fell a little short of the mark, but only cuz I started about 3 months into the year (ahem, yeah right). Several fellow nerdfighters wanted to join me in my quest, so here we are!

Start a thread with your personal goal for 2.0.0.9, and then add on as you read throughout the year. This way we get to see what everyone else is reading & keep each other in check. Feel free to add me as a friend, or you might get a friends request from me--so we keep each other in line!

Good Luck,
Allison :-)

P.S. YES, there will be a 50 Book Challenge 2.0.1.0!!

Added Note: Here's my list of what I have read so far for this year's challenge! http://nerdfighters.ning.com/profiles/blogs/my-50-book-challenge-fo...

Hey, weren't you the one I was competing with, Zara? Didn't we make some kind of deal in our sunny little squared thing? *wink wink*

Reply to This

Yes indeed! How are you doing?

UGh. It's going really slow. I've taken on impossible books, I'm currently reading (among others) A Room of One's own, which is based on two essays (Susie reading non-fiction?! I beg your pardon!).

So, yeah. It's going slow. Not able to win anymore. Hey, I have a question; Could we make up a deal about comicbooks/manga? I mean, do they count or can we make up a deal; like... 5 comicbooks = 1 book xD XD

Reply to This

Sure. Two or three comic books could equal a book instead of five, if you want. I would not be opposed to that.

Alright ;) That sounds like a good deal, and puts more books on my "Read"-list ^_~

Ok, so
1) I'm a little behind, but I'm sure I can catch up on time
2) I realise there are a lot of re-reads there, but I should clarify a little: I make a grab for Terry Pratchett when life is a little rough, so I was comfort-reading there, and things are better again now :) Pat Barker, especially the Regeneration trilogy (numbers 21-23 on my list), is AMAZING. The Regeneration books are possibly my most-re-read books ever, I just have to keep coming back to them, and they never cease to blow me away. So there. Read them!

It's going slow. I'm going to make it, though. I don't think so, I don't believe so, I KNOW so.
(I'm currently reading [among others] Arthur & George by Julian Barnes. I highly recommend it, it is absolutely brilliant. I'm also reading Great Swedish Fairytales with Illustrations by John Bauer. That makes it so much more interesting, I adore his art.)

Just finished book #36. A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray. Halfway through the sequel now.

I'm slightly ahead of schedule which is good because once I go to college there won't be much time for reading (but I plan on counting reading for school, too, even though that might be cheating).

Oh and there's a character named Pippa in the book!
