Nerdfighters

Last year I participated in a 50 book challenge and I fell a little short of the mark, but only cuz I started about 3 months into the year (ahem, yeah right). Several fellow nerdfighters wanted to join me in my quest, so here we are!

Start a thread with your personal goal for 2.0.0.9, and then add on as you read throughout the year. This way we get to see what everyone else is reading & keep each other in check. Feel free to add me as a friend, or you might get a friends request from me--so we keep each other in line!

Good Luck,
Allison :-)

P.S. YES, there will be a 50 Book Challenge 2.0.1.0!!

Added Note: Here's my list of what I have read so far for this year's challenge! http://nerdfighters.ning.com/profiles/blogs/my-50-book-challenge-fo...

I'm reading 100 books this year, which will be easier after I graduate in May.
Right now I'm reading Moby Dick by Herman Melville and The Mermaid Chair by Sue Monk Kidd

Ahh! I love this challenge. I read all of the books I got for Christmas before the New Year though, so now I have to find some new ones. Yay! I'm currently reading Cybele's Secret by Juliet Marillier. I might be reading Looking for Alaska next, but I'm not sure.

So, what I have so far is:
1. Cybele's Secret **reading
2. Looking for Alaska
3. Inkdeath
4. Brisingr
5. 13 Little Blue Envelopes **had to stop for some strange reason, but am still reading when I'm not reading the above.
6. Wuthering Heights
7. To Kill a Mockingbird
8. Swan Maiden

I'll add in the authors, and the other books when I come up with them. Depending on how busy school is, I might read more than 50, but that'll be my minimum for now. I'm really excited!

Let me know how you like Cybele's Secret! I just finished reading that one last week. Have you read Wildwood Dancing already?

Ah, I love Juliet Marillier. Have you read any of her other books yet? The Sevenwaters Trilogy is amazing <3.

Someone just told me about those! I must read those... *makes note*

Can you re-read, or do they have to be new?

I think for me, re-reads would make it too easy...

I'm doing just new books, but some people count rereads too.

I had already planned to read 26 books this year as part of an alphabet challenge, and then I was trying to decided if I wanted to try to read 52 books in 52 weeks or 100 books this year. So I guess I will say I will definitly read 50 books maybe more. So far I have already read The Luxe by Anna Godbersen.

I'm definately doing this, it was one of my New Years resolutions. I haven't got specific list I think I'm gonna pick it as I go. Easier that way. But thus far I have read one book: A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess. It was actually really awesome and is now one of my fave books - if anyone wants a quick but brilliant read I'd rec this!
Good luck everyone!

I commit myself to only 12 books, some of which I have already read, but are necessary to my existance. Thirty days I have to read each book. If I have read the entire book in the time allowed, I shall start the next one on the list. If I do not, I will be punished with another book that a friend has recommended. By the end of 2.0.0.9, I will have read many books.
1) Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them: A Fair and Balanced Look at the Right by Al Franken
2) Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes
3) An Abundance of Katherines by John Green
4) Looking for Alaska by John Green
5) Paper Towns by John Green
6) Travels With Charly by John Steinbeck
7) Shoot the Moon by Billie Letts
8) Walk Two Moons by Sharon Creech
9) The Diary of Anne Frank by Anne Frank
10)Houdini by Kalush and Sloman
11)The Facts and Fictions of Minna Pratt by Patricia MacLachlan
12)Inkheart by Cornelia Funke

I'm reading "Inkheart" just now, and it's good, but I prefer one of her other books, "The Theif Lord"
