Permalink Reply by A.A.I. [Forums NM] on October 22, 2011 at 12:47pm My dad has raised me up a nerd, among other things. We have watched Star Trek together since I was a child, and I am a big Spock fan. I learned the Vulcan salute at a young age and everything. So Spock and the Doctor? Ha! Funny!
The Doctor, all the way! As much as I like Doctor Who, or Star Trek, if we put the shows aside for a moment and think about the characters themselves, the Doctor would always win in a fight against him. With all he is capable of, his items, his regeneration, everything adds up to his winning. And besides.... It's THE DOCTOR!
Sorry, Katy, this wasn't so impossible... Especially for the Doctor :)
P.S. Ravenclaw FTW! DFTBA!

Permalink Reply by Morton George Malcolm Tooley on August 5, 2012 at 12:52am i don't think so, think for a second about what gandalf can do,there actually isn't a huge amount, Tolkien was always careful to try and use as little actual magic as possible in the stories, gandalfs primary role is to steer events, his only effective powers in this battle would be his Superior stamina compared to most people and his skills at fighting, the doctor defiantly has a great advantage. although if i missed an important point then if you could point it out it would be much appreciated
Permalink Reply by Ray Nerd on October 23, 2011 at 7:41pm Are we talking about one of those physical fights to the death where neither character has his typical non-violent dispositions? I assume the Doctor's strength is comparable to an earth human, which would give Spock and advantage.
Assuming, however, the Doctor has traveled to the 23rd century, he has probably encountered Vulcans and knows of some obscure way to defeat them (as he seems to know about every species he encounters). Advantage, Doctor.
Intellectually, I think they are probably similar, although the Doctor's approach to problem solving is far more eccentric. In a game of three dimensional chess, I give the Doctor the advantage. His ingenuity in an endgame hail mary move would counfound Spock's logic. Again, advantage, Doctor.
Then again, does the neck pince work on time lords?

Permalink Reply by Morton George Malcolm Tooley on August 5, 2012 at 12:46am unlikely i think, the doctor can breath while being strangled, can regenerate his entire body to avoid death and also has two hearts, i think we can assume his internal physiology is hugely different to ours, so while it may affect him it would probably affect him differently
also the doctor as a general rule is quite lithe and could probably overpower spock (who has a physiology much more similar to a humans, i believe) quite easily
taking into account what you have also said the doctor would win
it's only logical
Permalink Reply by Ria Webster on October 24, 2011 at 7:01pm I am a very passionate Star Trek fan so this is insanely easy for me: MR SPOCK!
Although, thinking logically (as Spock would) I do have to come to the very upsetting conclusion that in a physical fight, The Doctor would win. He has more physical power than Spock, what with the time travel, his weaponry and regeneration and stuffs. However in mental battle or fight of knowledge, Spock would win hands down, 100%.
But Mr Spock wins the awesome battle x100000000 (and one more than you could ever say).

also the title got me thinking, and i have come up with my own impossible question
what is the answer to this question?
