a really good poet is john greenlief whittier. His best works are barbra frietchie, snow bound, and telling the bees. Another really good poet is walt whitman. if you are looking for more obscure people, john trumbull is good

thank you :) I've read Walt Whitman but I haven't heard of the other two so I will look into it, I really like Etheridge Knight at the moment

Well sometimes I write poetry. I don't know whether I am good, my friends say so. 

Judge yourself, I say! Here's a poet I wrote about sleeping ^^

"Thoughts flow away from your mind
like a river from the mountains
giving herself to the ruling sea
floating forever around, waiting
for the time to be picked up again

Put your running thoughts in a box
as you slowly go to sleep
And find your thoughts the next day
in the jar where you left them"
