Nerdfighters

Okay so I have read a lot of books. Thank goodness for the local library, that keeps me up to my ears in literature. But sadly after reading the entirety of my local library young adult section I am running out, if you could suggest any good books I would be very grateful.

The best books I have found that you really should read are-

Paper towns- John Green

Looking for Alaska- John Green

Gone- Michael Grant

Poison study- Maria V. Snyder

The Declaration- Gemma Malley

Noughts and crosses- Malorie Blackman

Inside out- Maria V. Snyder

Could you suggest any books for me to read? I would really appreciate it.

A few of my favorite YA titles at the moment are Little Brother by Cory Doctorow (which you should enjoy for the slightly dystopian angle like Gone or Inside Out), the Levianthan Trilogy by Scott Westerfeld (which is pure and simple steampunk awesomeness), and My Most Excellent Year (which reminds me some of John Green). If you want something a bit more girly (but definately not chick lit!) I would suggest Entwined which is a gorgeous if slightly darker retelling of a classic fairytale.
I'd suggest Catcher in the Rye, by J.D Salinger, it's one of the best books about the end of teenage years and beggining of adulthood, and particularly one of my favourite books

hope you enjoy it, dftba

I just read a brilliant piece of teen fiction (written by a seventeen year old guy!)

Grow Up by Ben Brooks

You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll get very confused and, finally, you'll understand life. :)

One of my favorite YA authors is Robert Cormier. His books tend to have a dark edge to them, which I personally enjoy. My favorites are The Chocolate War, I Am the Cheese, and The Bumblebee Flies Anyway. All of them are great reads.

Haha, I've also read literally all the YA books that my local library carries. After the librarians turned out to be fairly unhelpful with suggesting new books for me, I turned to the internet. Typically, my go-to source for new books is Goodreads. Apart from being amazing in a million other ways, the listopia features allows you to view a compilation list of the best user-voted books in a huge range of categories. There's a fairly comprehensive YA list, which is always my first port of call for what to read next :D
But you could also try those lists of YA novels released in 2011, or featuring romance or even vampires, if that's what floats your boat.

(Not sure if you have to be a member of goodreads to see these lists or not. But if you're not a member, sign up! They're currently working on a personalised recommendation system which is looking just amazing :D)

Here's a list of a few young adult books - I really enjoyed The Book Thief by Markus Zusak- it's on the bestseller list so maybe you've already read it but it's one of my favorites.
Phillip Pullman is a really good writer. His Dark Materials are his best books but The Sally Lockhart Quartet is good aswell. Not that many people seem to have read his books but they're amazing. Way more poeple should read them. I'd really recommend them. Divergent is also a really good book by Veronica Roth. Its her first novel and one of the best debute novels I've read. The Cherub series by Robert Muchamore are good. Fallen by Lauren Kate, The Pretty Little Liars series by Sara Shepard, Twilight if you can stand them. Nicholas Sparks is really good if you like romance novels. Some of his books are The Notebook, The Choice, Dear John, A Walk To Remember and The Last Song. Hope this helps!
  1. The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod series by Heather Brewer(as well as Slayer Society)
  2. Venomous by Christopher Krovatin
  3. The Astonishing Adventures of Fanboy and Goth Girl by Barry Lyga
  4. Fat Vampire: A Never Coming of Age Story by Adam Rex (although, I'll warn you, the ending will shock you)
  5. Vampire Academy series by Rachelle Mead
  6. Cirque Du Freak series by Darren Shan
