Haha, my sisters and I used to do this for a road trip game. Take turns naming Harry Potter characters, no repeats, when you can't think of one you lose. We would go on forever! And I always won :)  We used to whip out Blaise Zabini back when his only mention was getting his name read at the sorting. I'm pretty sure we all peed our pants when he actually showed up in the story. And he was a boy.

And since I am assuming most of us are far more interested in REAL people than the people in Harry Potter, I'm guessing nobody who isn't socially defective can name 200 Harry Potter characters entirely from memory.

But no, in reality, I'm pretty darn sure I do know more than the 65 people I'd be left with after the 85 Harry Potter characters I came up with... (Hoohanerdfighters)

PLUS I could start naming bunches of other fictional characters not born from Rowling's pen. (And now that I've finished my list, I can think of MORE HP characters. Ah well. I'll leave it.)

Anyways, my point here is that I don't think social sciences were taking nerdfighters into account in formulating this theory :)
