Or perhaps it is the basic chemical element of awesome. Like the way nerdfighters aren't made of blood and organs and bones, but we are instead made of awesome. Perhaps this is the chemical element that is not made of protons and neutrons and electrons, but awesometrons.

May I suggest that/expand on?

• Nerdighterium is an element first in the discovery of a whole new class of elements, called the Awesomates.
• NF, with the value of PI can be combined and recombined with itself and it's products (through a process called nerdvision) into an infinite number of elements. 
• It has a melting point of infinity, a freezing point of infinity, and several other bizarre properties.
• At each 42nd recombination,  the element created automatically splits it's nucleus and creates a compound with the atoms^2 constituent elements. So the 42nd "element" is actually a compound with 1,764 atoms. Those atoms then recombine and the process continues, obviously infinite.
• When NF forms a compound, the bonds types are covalent nings.
• That is why the chemical number is WTF?

i actually had a dream where me and my sister bought a house that was open to all nerdfighters, but about 8 lived there full time. it was the most awesome thing ever. i was surrounded by NERDS! YAY!
