Nerdfighters

I recently read Groosham Grange, an Anthony Horowitz book from the 80's. it was definately published before Harry Potter. And the beginning of the story was extremely similar to the beginning of Harry Potter. Just minus Dudley. Of course, the rest of the story isn't very similar to Harry Potter, but the first two or three chapters share many things in common with each other. Has anyone else noticed this?

If i've bothered any Rowling fans, sorry.

With witchcraft and that line of writing, it's not hard to copy somebody else's idea or adapt or improve.

Jk Rowly's harry potter is a relatively simple and much used storyline. The only difference is she is a good story teller and thus has made millions out of her versions. The characters may be individual in their own right and so on, but it's just the same story to all the others really.

Anthony Horowitz however takes quite a different take on witchcraft, but still uses the basics of the witchcraft code and shiz.
