Permalink Reply by Neira on March 8, 2012 at 5:00am I'm not sure. I love Matt Smith. He plays the role beautifully and I know there's no talk about him leaving, but, for some reason, I think this will be his last series. I don't have much evidence to support my theory, except for the fact that the Fall of the Eleventh is mentioned few times, but that's just my hunch. On the other hand, I was the only person who didn't realize who River Song was, so I am probably wrong.
In my opinion, The Silence and the fall has something to do with the Time Lords and/or The Master. I know Moffat said that he likes the idea of the Doctor being the last of his race, but I'm hopeful.

Permalink Reply by Neira on March 8, 2012 at 1:16pm I want to see him or Andrew Scott, who did an amazing job playing Moriarty. Some people say that Benny might play the Doctor, but I can only see that happening in the movie (that will come out in a century or two).
When will the new series come out?
Permalink Reply by Sam on March 9, 2012 at 6:38pm November, it makes me sad to have to wait that long.
Permalink Reply by rc on March 8, 2012 at 1:51pm Part of me loves Matt Smith as the Doctor of all doctors and wants him to continue on; part of me loves the natural transitions the show uses. I want as much Matt Smith as possible, and I'm glad they aren't falling into a predictable "every Doctor gets two seasons only" pattern, but I think he only needs to be around for another season. And then immediately do some more awesome acting elsewhere.
Permalink Reply by Anders Nielsen on March 8, 2012 at 5:11pm I would like to see Bendict Cumberbatch play the role. For one, he kind of looks like the Doctor from the original series. He also did amazingly in Sherlock and as Stephen Hawking.
Permalink Reply by Anja on September 21, 2012 at 8:24am Hasn't Matt signed a contract that he'll work for Doctor Who at least until 2014? :)
Permalink Reply by Lydia Beller-McKenna on October 9, 2012 at 7:17pm I feel a little bit like he is overstaying his welcome. I mean they obviously didn't want him to pull an Eccleston on them, but honestly i liked 9 much better than him :/ I kind of want a new doctor.
Permalink Reply by Sarah Not-Green on October 10, 2012 at 2:27am I like 11, but I'm not attached to him like I was to 10. I don't have much of an opinion on how long he stays.
I have a far greater want for Moffat to be replaced as head writer. *ducks*
Permalink Reply by Caitlin J. Brady on October 10, 2012 at 9:13pm I'm actually ready to see him go. He was an awesome Doctor, but the times must be a-changing. And it's depressing for him to be on much longer than Tennant, who still surpasses him in my heart. I'm just ready for them to shake things up! They kept the Ponds on for way too long, and there wasn't much of a long story arc, and they need to shake stuff up.
