Christopher Eccleston or David Tennant?

Hands down.
I mean, I love Eccleston, but David Tennant is just amazing.

Ah, i started with Eccleston, have grown to like Tennant, but Christopher was my first Doctor so I still have to stick with him.

I started watching with Tennant. Perhaps that is why.

I've just thought about it, and I don't think I like Tennant just because he was my "first" Doctor.
I just prefer Tennant's acting style over Eccleston's.
It's just the way he does EVERYTHING. Like that thing where he snaps his teeth together.
If anyone knows what I'm talking about.

I do! And allons-y! He's so eccentric... I mean certainly, yes, the Doctor has always been an extremely eccentric character, but Tennant brings an acting style which so beautifully portrays the toeing of the genius/insanity line, he's prefect for the role in every way.

I believe that I love them both the same, for the characters they played...while both may have been the Doctor... they were 2 very different Doctors...and they somewhat tried to document that at the end of the 4th season when Rose stood in the alternate world with the human version of The Doctor. Eccleston was The Doctor as he was... Just after a war, after committing genocide on the Dalek race... watching both his own planet and the Daleks be destroyed. But by the end of the season, Rose had changed him, and then he changed into the new face.

I'm reading into this way too much, but I love each one of them for the way they played the Doctor as the Doctor was in his time of life. I wish Christopher would have been around for more than one season, as i love him as an actor...but I'm glad it all is as it is. I hope the next Doctor is just as great at playing the character as he'll be played.

i personally don't think you are reading to much into this lol. Ecclestons' character was born from war, it gives him such a completely different view on life. Rose was able to change that. They are so radically different in my head that they both have a special place in my heart lol.
