6 weeks ago, my pony, Ruby was put down because she had Equine Cushings disease. Equine Cushings disease is caused by a tumor in the pituitary gland, which produces and regulates hormones. Symptoms include a long, shaggy coat that does not shed, excessive drinking and urination,
laminitis, recurring infections of the hoof (foot abscesses), and a loss of muscle. Often, particularly with the more severe things like laminitis, symptons become permanent and the horse has to be put down, as was the case with Ruby.
Yesterday I came across this article;
http://www.alphahorse.com/cushings-disease.html which claims to have found a cure; chasteberry. Aside from the obvious 'WHY GOD?! WHY MUST I FIND THIS NOW WHEN IT'S TOO LATE??' I thought I should try and spread the word about it as it seems incredibly effective. If you have a horse with Cushings or know somebody who does then please pass this article along.
If anyone is aware of a charity that is trying to prevent Cushings then
please let me know. I am desperate to help eradicate this stupid disease and get my 'revenge' kind of thing.
