shouldnt it be a space and time machine? if we go back in time to the exact point when the person we want to take is then if say we want hitler and someone made the time machine in lets say new york then that said person would have to travel all the way to where hitler is to get hem.........so it shouldnt only be a time machine it should be a space and time machine?

Yeah, I guess.
But I'm going to be honest--I started to write own version of EBO, and of course it isn't very good because I'm only 14 and only have about a year of writing experience, but I wanted to surprise nerdfighters when it was done. But now that it has been brought back, I've decided to tell others about it. I didn't get a lot done, but I think it's some of my best work =P

In my mind the two have always been synonymous because, well, what good is just a time machine? You have to haul it around the world and that would be a pain.

Well, you would also have to move in space because your platform, the Earth, is moving under you. You wouldn't want to leave the city you started in due to roational motion. And you really, really, really wouldn't want to be left by orbital revolution (or worse, galactic revolution) some place where a planet isn't. And if you add in expansion of the universe....yeah, you have to move in space as well as time, just to stand still.

Just get a TARDIS and a couple of Time Lords to look after them. The only problem we have now is that time bubble trapping them all except for the Doctor... and a couple of other things that would be spoilers for anyone who has not finished the series :)
