I stand against all the hate and bigotry that ignorant Christians promote in the name of loving their God.
That said, I am about at my wit's end with everyone saying that it is an absolute fact that Christianity opposes homosexuality.
All of the passages used to promote this theory can be refuted. The Bible has been translated countless times by the hopelessly corrupt in order to manipulate the population and distort the original messages for their own purposes.
You are using your religion as an excuse to ostracize a group of people who are just as legitimately people as you are. Very Christ-like of you.
If god hates homosexuality, how come He made all the little animals of the world so homosexual? Bonobos are famous for being horny, most of that is homosexual, and just about every mamalian species on the planet is well-recorded as engaging in various levels of homosexual activity.
Don't deflect by talking about the difference between man and animal in Christianity. My assertion in Christian terms is that God does not hate the act of homosexuality as evidenced by the fact that He whipped up practically every sexually reproducing creation with an inkling of sentience with a great deal of homosexuality.
The question is: If God hates the act of homosexuality, how come He made so many things that do it so much?
Mankind fell, perverting God's creation. That's why it happens in animal species as well. Creation has been made into a mockery of itself since the Fall.
It is actually more likely to get disease through heterosexual activities than homosexual activities. And being part of the LGBT community, we don't decide to be this way, why would anyone decide to be something that they know people are doing to all you a sinner over. It is just who someone is, even from very young ages most "gays" know they are, or have interests for the same sex. And a lot of the time that interest is for the personality.
Also 98% of Americans will at some point in their lifes seriously consider and/or consentually be apart of homosexual activies.
first off god dosne't hate homosexuality because god dosen't hate anyone god loves all of his people he may be disappionted but he dose not hate. and yes i am a chrisitan and i feel homosexuality goes agenst the bible but i don't judge homosexuality people because that is not my place to judge that is what god dose so when i meet gay peopele( srry if gay offends anyone) i support them and become friends with most of them becuase alot of the ones i meet are really good people. gods made it so people can have choices in life. so every one who hates gays needs to get over themselfs theres nothin anyone can do there always going to be around. and btw way for guys who hate gays you should be thanking them because for ever gay couple there is that two more free women.
So true. God accepts all people and whether you believe in God or not there is still NO LOGICAL reason for you to point at a homosexual, turn to your friends and then say, "Hey! Look at that little f**got! Let's go make fun of him because he is strange and different from me!" Why would the God of love, mercy, compassion, and understanding EVER want us to do that? I mean, sure--I guess there are risks for homosexuals (especially men) to partake in sexual activity but that's THEIR decision and they KNOW what they're getting into. (I'm looking at you, Scottie the Radiohead) Furthermore, if you argue that homosexuality is disgusting and opens you up to a lot of STD's then your plain wrong. That only applies for men. When two women get intimate, they actually have less of a chance of getting and STD than even a heterosexual couple would.
And for everyone out there who says that God hates the sin of homosexuality, I'd have to argue with you too. Homosexuality is just as sinful as Heterosexuality, meaning they're only sinful when misused (A.K.A: Premarital sex, prostitution, rape, molestation). The way I see it, every person should grow up looking for someone they want to spend the rest of their lives with. Whether that someone is a man or a woman is up to chance and has nothing to do with either person's gender specifically.
I really hope that one day, you will all let my kids walk to school and pass by our neighbor's house where two old men will be sitting on the patio in rocking chairs, holding each others hands lovingly as my child politely says hello to them and continues his trek to school without viewing the couple as abnormal. Homosexuals are not hurting anyone and they aren't hurting themselves so stop looking at them like they have a third arm growing from their head and start looking at them like "fellow travelers to the grave". (YAY Charles Dickens!)
