Good Science Fiction Books

For quite a while now I have been wanting a full fledged sci-fi novel. Any recommendations?

The Homeward Bounders is pretty good, but really it depends on what style you are looking for. I read that one during my early teens.

Hothouse is good too, I like Strata and The Dark Side Of The Moon by Terry Pratchett, but they are often criticised.

Ray Bradbury. End of story. He is an amazing scifi author

That depends on what you want in your SF. While a masterful wordsmith and storyteller, Bradbury's science is pretty soft. Much of his work is closer to Fantasy than SF (and a lot of it is closer to poetry than fiction) but there is nothing wrong with that. Rod Serling's style was similar - Twilight Zone, anyone?

But if you want more rigor, more nuts and bolts on the science side of your Science Fiction then you would like Asimov and Clark more than Bradbury.

Bradbury is amazing, but there's other, more "scifi-y" authors out there

Well you've got you ABC of sci-fi - Isaac Asimov, Ray Bradbury and Arthur C Clarke. On top you that you have people like Larry Niven, Iain M Banks, Douglas Adams, Peter F Hamilton, Joe Haldeman, Kim Stanley Robertson, Richard A Heinlein etc.

Speaking of Heinlen, I would strongly suggest you read any of his books. I found Stranger in a Strange Land to be one of the best books I've ever read.

I found most Heinlein to be mysoginistic at best, so I'm not a fan of his body of work. But Stranger in a Strange Land is a great novel, I agree.

Asimov? Really? He was a decent theorist but his prose is atrocious. Also Larry Niven has only written two novels worth reading, Ringworld (not the crappy sequels, especially Throne, ugh..) and The Integral Trees.
