Hello there bookish experts - anyone know of some good travel fiction that makes you want to go explore the world? My favourites at the moment are Maureen Johnson's "13 Little Blue Envelopes" and Stephanie Perkins's "Anna and the French Kiss," and I also like Suzanne Harper's "The Juliet Club." Any other fun and exciting books like this? There must be...

I was going to suggest 13 Little Blue Envelopes until I saw you'd read it. That book was absolutely fantastic. The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo  makes me want to go to Sweden, but that might just be me.

 

The Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society of Guernsey absolutely made me want to go to England, and Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons make me want to travel too.

Well, anything that is English Literature makes me want to be in England. I know that The Mysteries of Udolpho by Ann Radcliffe is actually sort of meant to be a travelouge, and it actually goes int some detail about places in France and Italy, and while the prose can get winded, it really does make everything sound beautiful. Also it envokes a sort of appreciation fo the natural beauties around us, only like a true Romantic writer could!
