Has anyone read the hunger games? Is it good and whats it about?

See, it's basically about this tournament called the Hunger Games. In the Hunger Games, 12 girls and 12 boys are chosen from each district to go to an area and fight until the death until there's only one left, and the person who survives is the winner. See, thee are 12 of these Discricts and each are fairly small. They're built on what USED to be North America, which is called Panem now, and are controlled by the Capitol. Each year, a boy and a girl between the ages of 12-18 are randomly chosen to go fight in the Hunger Games. It's really really good, you shoul read it.

I liked the series. Although it's a less gorey version of Battle Royale with more romance and in first person. I think the overall theme of the entire series is about how the media affects our decisions and actions. I'm going to see the movie, although it won't be the premire opening or anything. I'm under the firm belief that every book is worth reading, both the good and the bad, so if you have a chance to read it, do so.
