The title is pretty self explanitary but basically this is a petition that once it has has 50,000 signitures they are going to send to governer of Alaska to urge them to end this barbaric sport.

granted we are smarter as a species but there are certain people who are less intelligent than other people. if you killed and ate the me how could you justify that?
your opinions are quite clearly different to mine, please could you explain them?

We're not only smarter, but we have a much more defined sentience. As long as people have permits and abide to those permits, and the animals aren't being hunted while they're endangered, as in there is a good risk that they'll become extinct, then I'm fine with it. I'm not going to tell someone that they can't hunt a wild animal if they're abiding by the laws and the animal is not protected by law. That being said, I'm the person in the group that saves every animal I can, including spiders that are inside the house (and spiders freak me the hell out). I am not going to tell someone else that they have to abide by my morals. I do not think that wild animals have any rights to not be hunted. They're in a situation of predator and prey anyway. The only difference is that instead of arrows and spears, we now have guns and helicopters.

People hunted everything when we were nomadic too.

but we are not and we are destroying with our overconsumption and our manmade things and then we want to hunt too.

a lot of this hunting has nothing to do with need.

this isn't some inuit people living a traditional lifstyle hunting whales and seals. that i am ok with.
ansd some of them might be in there, but mostly it's for profit, and some of those people might need the money, some might not.

Fair enough, but I still say that if it's not endangering the species it's not a massive problem that can't be controlled. However, I probably shouldn't be the one defending hunting since I don't like it nor am I really even willing to go hunting. I would prefer firing a weapon at a firing range for sport. See how close I could get to the bulls eye. (not actual bull's eye, but you know)
