Nerdfighters

Have you ever wondered what the worst website on the internet is? well I think I found it it's called anontalk this web site is completely anonymous and allows you to talk about anything. It makes an account for you automatically as soon as you visit the site. This sit has become a hub of child porn and discussions from pedophiles about the honorable acts they've committed.

Heres a link to the Encyclopedia Dramatica article about the site.

They're talking about acts they claim to have committed. When people are anonymous on the internet they say fucked up shit.
Exactly. It seems like you care more about people talking about their crimes than the actual crimes itself. Logically speaking, it's a good thing that they talk about it; valuable clues can be gleaned from some idiot bragging about his pedophilia all over the Internet. So basically the only absolutely convincing, indisputable, god damned reason you can come up with that taking this site down is such an important matter is "it's wrong". I think a crusade against the actual pedophilia and not the discussions is, to say the least, a little bit more important.
This sounds like something which we need really need to keep from being shut down.

First of all, if they discuss their interests here, than they don't discuss them elsewhere. Meanwhile, it keeps them away from sites that don't want them, like the Ning.

Second of all, if there is a crime and they talk about it on this website, then that conversation can become evidence against them in court. Without this website, they would probably be silent and would lose our very tools against them.
I was looking around the site for about 15 mins just now. Apart from the fact that I was personally revolted by many of the things I saw there, it wasn't the fiction or "erotic" stories that bothered me the most.
I'll leave out the horrifying and explicit details.
There were some discussions where people were encouraging other pedophiles to do things, and people suggesting different ways to trick children, and people asking for advice on how to silence a young child that was going to tell someone she had been molested.
You can't tell me that THAT is constructive.

As for /b/ or 4chan, yeah people post disgusting stuff. Yes it is partially a cesspool of people trying to outdo one another with the most shocking things they can find. But 4chan isn't plotting and encouraging people to hurt children. And I have never ever seen anything on 4chan that bothers me like the a mere 15 minutes or AnonTalk has.
I'm not claiming that anything on these sites is constructive.

My point is that if they are being destructive, they might as well do it:
1.) Where I don't have to see it
2.) Where it is public and can be used for law enforcement without a warrant
3.) Where law enforcement knows where it is
I can get behind that.
From Encyclopedia Dramatica:

" AnonTalk is not actually anonymous

On AnonTalk, you must use the same user ID for every single one of your posts. When AnonTalk's server is seized, all the police have to do is check the logs for AnonTalk and find your IP address to match your poster ID. Then once they seize your computer and find your ID & password stored on there they will have enough evidence to prove in court that you made all of the posts under that user ID.

AnonTalk's server logs are insecurely deleted every one month. Meaning that if you visit AnonTalk more than once a month, your IP address is always stored on the server. The white-listing feature on AnonTalk is useless, as after you have been white-listed your original IP address is stored in case you abuse the privilege. "

So, basically, it's only a matter of time before it's shut down.
The last time I checked, talking about something illegal wasn't illegal, the ACTION was.
