I say 'aunt' with an aw sound but the people that live around me say that it's pronounced 'ant'. I refuse to believe that 'ant' is how you pronounce 'aunt'. How do you say 'aunt'? Maybe this whole 'ant' think is just mid- western.

I pronouce aunt like 'aw-nt'. I live in Eastern Canada; but many people around here pronounce it 'ant', and even 'unt'.
o the irony.  i was actually thinking about this this afternoon.  aunt is one of several words that i will find myself pronouncing differently depending on the company i'm in.  i usually only revert back to 'ant' with my family, but still.
i dunno, some of my aunts are aw-nt and some art ant :P it depends, both are gramatically correct :)
I pronounce it "ant" but more often than that I will say auntie which sounds like "anti"
I use both pronounciations. Like, I have an 'Ant' Kathy, but an 'Aw-nt' Carla. I live in Virginia, so I sort of have a southern accent. :)

Ont, I guess.

Either one is acceptable. Say it either way you want. It's like either. Some people say ee-ther, some say eye-ther. Some people say ant, some say aunt. Whatever.
I live near Seattle. I say "ant."

[I also say "sore-y" for sorry, and "n-eye-ther" for neither, so take it as you may.]
I go with the aw-nt people think I am weird and i dont care ^.^
I may be oklahoman and surrounded by ants, but I say Awnt.
Ant.
When I was younger I would say aw-nt but my classmates would look at me funny and try to get me to say it "right" so I was kind of pressured into saying it like ant. By the way, I rember saying it like aw-nt because it sounded british to me when I was, like, six.
