Icons, avatars and other profile pictures

What does yours mean to you? Is it a photo of you, if so, what are you doing and why? There are some pretty weird ones out there and I want to get to the bottom of them!

My avatar is the Greek letter Phi, because it is used in maths, science and art. I am interested in maths the sciences and the arts, and that is one of the reasons I chose it. Another reason is that Phi is the golden ratio, as was stated in an image I made (and a previous avatar that is now missing):

Another important thing I have included in my avatar is the rainbow background. I love rainbows and to me they are the penultimate beauty (The ultimate being the aurorae). Other versions of my avatar are:

I did not want to explain my icon, but dog loving NF's keep asking. This is BeeBee. who going on 3 years ago passed over the Rainbow Bridge and no longer comes to play (Yes, I speak euphemistically, if you want me to come right out and say it...well you can Goddamn well just shut up!) I continue to use her picture...well, I guess to honor her, but mostly because she 'was just so darn cute. That tongue of her's was just so cool - it protruded because of dental problems but she used that to her advantage - Beeb could out kissy-face dogs three times her size. And she loved you before she met you - an view I admire but can hold for myself (because I am not a pug dog). Please know that it is all good - I now live with a new pair of pugs, rescued dogs, of course.

Mine is an ms paint drawing of a snail wizard. I was dong a bilogy exam a while ago and it mentioned the 'conus magus' (magician's cone snail). I thought the idea of a snail wizard sounded really cool so I've been using conus magus as a display pic for things since then.
