Permalink Reply by Christina Hollobaugh on October 3, 2009 at 10:37pm: i never got this either. i hate watching movies that are about revenge. it makes no sense to me. for instance, my mom rented a movie the other night. i don't remember the name. but it was about these guys who tortured and almost killed this girl. the dad seeks revenge and ends up getting it, he tortures the guy in the end. i didn't watch it cause that just doesn't appeal to me. i asked my mom why she liked it and she just said she was glad that the dad got revenge. but why? i mean, instead of the bad guy just negatively effecting the girl and family by what he had done, the dad becomes (in my opinion) just as bad as the bad guy by torturing and killing him. revenge consumes you. it makes life a living hell. *shakes head* i just don't understand it. how does sinking to the killer, torture, ect. level make your life better? i argue that in fact it takes a part of your soul. instead of repairing damage and moving on, it just slowly eats at your life until you remain old, bitter, and souless. nice question!; ▶ Reply to This
