Nerdfighters

You already know what most people will say.

Far right: Yes. It is a difficult choice, but can be overcome. There are bad things to being gay, but some people live with it the way geeks live with ridicule because of their strangeness that they could change.

Far left: No. You can't choose who you fall in love with. You're just born that way. Why would someone choose to be teased, rejected and alienated by society and their loved ones?

Well, to be fair to the right, some people, like geeks or weirdos, don't care about being teased or bullied or rejected because of the things they like. Even straight couples are willing to be teased or rejected because of their choice of a partner, but it's for love, right? Then again, is there really such a thing as true love at all?

Maybe it's just physical. Let's be honest, being gay or straight depends mostly on sex. If you fall in love with someone online then find out their not th gender you like, you probably wouldn't want to be with them the same way you did before.

For all we know, we do choose who we fall in love with. We make decisions about how to interperet our feelings, how to react to a person's actions or thoughts, when judging something they do or believe in, those are all little choices. Bu are they really what make us fall in love with people?

But it's true, if you want to love someone, why make it someone you're family or friends would reject you for? Why pick someone you can't have kids with or marry?(If that's what you want)

In Chrsitianity, the Bible says at least three times that being gay is wrong. But the only reason it would be wrong is if it's a choice, because sin is about disobeying God's will and rejecting the truth of his law and words. You can really only go against God's law by choosing to reject or go against it, like choosing to steal or choosing to ignore Jesus once you've heard the truth, or choosing not to even try to be a better person. So how can something be a sin if you don't choose to do it? (please no religious bashing from any sides in this discussion) Many christians who don't support being gay say that it's a hard thing to overcome but can be done, but how many gay people do they know that have actually stayed celibate or gone straight?

Main questions wiht this issue: Is it a choice? Can you choose who you fall in love with? Why or why not?  If it is a choice, why would you choose to be gay at all?

EDIT: If you have anything directed specifically at me, the one posting this, I'm not going to read it. The discussion is mainly for other people who wanted to discuss it, and I lost track of the comments months ago anyway.

oy? thats it?

i am sorry, i do not understand what those meant. did you lost your ability to form a legit response? i am really concern about you.

Instead of focussing on whether someone's spelling is flawless or not as well as repeatedly posting seemingly nonsensical comments, you could provide a more valuable contribution to this discussion in the form of arguments or answers, for instance to the questions David Nica asked you earlier. For instance, I do not see how your following message has contributed to this discussion.

XYN BONHE! NET PULSA GEROIN!!!!

wow, now you turned into a grammar freak? give it a break since i can't take you seriously anymore after

XYN BONHE! NET PULSA GEROIN!!!!

and instead of attacking my somewhat weak grammar, why don't you answer the question posted by David?

For the sake of the discussion, I urge you all to ignore further posts by Galle unless they comprise of valid arguments. Either they're trolling or have entered a dark, dark place no one wishes to be sucked into

i just cant believe that troll exists here too. and here i thought this is where i will find intelligent people to have conversation with. too bad for Galle, i hope her books come out soon...not.

Finally, thank you, see, isnt this a much more productive response than whatever rubbish you were throwing at me. I am not angry at your opinion. Truthfully, I am grateful for different opinions, they open my eyes and mind. But i am angry at the fact that you have not produced any productive contribution other than making nonsense responses like :  "XYN BONHE! NET PULSA GEROIN!!!!" how do you think i feel? it is like you are not taking me seriously. No, I will take that back, you were not taking me or David seriously. It is your action that angered me. I apologize for calling you a troll, but you were acting like one.  WE are trying to avoid suckiness but you are throwing Suck at us.

Maybe be calling you troll was un call for, i am sorry. BUT  responding with gibberish is a much more offending act.

I do not ask for an apology/speech/call for sanity from you. I am asking for your reasons, I am asking for a debate. I have always love good debates. You have called yourself a debater but all you have done was responding gibberish. And it offended me deeply. It is not your opinion about gay people, it is, again, YOUR ACTION that offend me. you didnt even apologize for your action. this is a debate and yet you throw rubbish at me. It is a waste of time.  You are acting like a child no less. You offended other not by your opinion but by how you treated other. You have treated me badly intellectually speaking. You have replied with rubbish to my opinion. you are obviously not taking me seriously. and now you are shouting things you dont even mean with all your heart. if you want to end suck, take a good look at yourself and how you have treated me intellectually. i am gonna end this. And i do hope you will see what you did to me is wrong as a debater.

dftba.

You just dont learn, do you? :)

fine :)

and please, enlighten me, what language was you using when you said "XYN BONHE! NET PULSA GEROIN!!!!"? :). My minuscule plain of knowledge obviously is not there with someone who is writing a series of books :).  I dont know, maybe those books will be published and put next to Sarah Palin's memoir about reality tv show. :) I bet they will sell well! :) I hope you will be successful in writing those books of your. I can't wait till they get published! :)

I would say God Bless, but my ancestors are not gods. so, good luck. May Buddha be with you. :)

While I still strongly disagree, and still fail to understand your point, or in what way your opinion on war relates to this thread, I also will end this. It has, indeed become a waste of time.

I don't believe in any gods, so I hope you have a good day, and general future

I have "produced" productive contributions other than a random saying that I hate war;

Now, if saying that I hate war, and saying God bless you offended ANYONE, then, go figure.

Please stop misconstruing the situation. No one ever got mad at you period. Additionally, you never said you hated war, which would furthermore have nothing to do with the thread. You were posting gibberish clearly, and criticizing minor grammatical errors mockingly. So please stop acting like you were persecuted for voicing your opinion: I told people to ignore you if you continued trolling.

No one wishes to persecute anyone, please don't fabricate things outright. You haven't mortally offended anyone, you were just posting irrelevant material.

I think to call it nonsense is perfectly reasonable, given as you never elaborated on what you meant by "XYN BONHE! NET PULSA GEROIN!!!!" then started nitpicking Peter's grammar. You don't need to reaffirm your first amendment right, for a) I never said you couldn't speak, I just encourage others to ignore you if you continued trolling and b) I am not Congress, so it has little importance to me.

You don't have to turn this into a persecution case, no one was ever saying you don't have a right to speak. No one on this thread was ever enraged, in fact I found my questioning process calm and logical. Please don't misinterpret things, I accept your apology, but half of the events you are protesting never occurred.
