I wouldn't say so. Maybe there are more girls that read it than guys, but I don't think that necessarily makes it a "girls' book". The topics brought up in the book are general topics that anybody could relate to. I'd classify it as just a "young adult" book.

It isnt in particular a 'girly' book but it greatly appealed to me. As Ellen Lee said, its a young Adult book, it doesnt aim towards either gender. The main protagonist is a boy, but it doesnt make it any less appealing.

Seriously, I highly reccomend it. Perhaps go to your local library and see if they have it, read the first few chapters, then decide to read on.

At first I wasn't too sure about it, then I got sucked in and couldn't stop reading.

thanks, I think i might have been the cover that "scared" a bit :)

I think it's kind of funny that its only girls who reply :D
My guy friend was the one to introduce it to me. In fact, I know two guys that claim it's one of their favorite books! Read it, you definitely won't regret it. (Plus, the protagonist is a guy anyway.)
Myself being a 23 year old guy and have just finished reading Looking for Alaska a few hours ago. I would not say it's a girl book, boy book or necessarily a book dedicated to young adults. To me it is some insight and a different perspective in to the unanswerable question, to see beyond the unforeseeable, a brief and fleeting glimpse into the unknowable, why?
I agree with everyone who has already posted, but I'd like to throw in the fact that it's both narrated by and written by a guy. So that actually makes it seem to me that it's a book that guys can relate to a little bit easier than girls can.

Of course I'm a girl... So what would I know!
I find it a strange question.
no
Nope, I'm a boy and it didn't seem to my as a girl's book when I read it yesterday. I read it all in one sitting, amazing book is amazing.
Nah my boyfiend read it and he liked it.
not at all bro, I've loved it from the beggining to the end and I nevel felt it was a ''girl book''.

acutally, as many other nerdfighters have said, its a ''young adult'' book.
I've only just started reading it but seeing as the main character is a man i assume that it would relate easily to guys as well as girls but as i havent read the book fully i can't really state either way but so far id say no :)
