So like every other teenager in the world, I've recently been using something called Facebook. (Haven't heard of it?You should probably check it out.*sarcasm*)
But...I've discovered a problem.
It appears that the majority of teenagers have trouble spelling the word...
YOU.
Yes. Together, these three letters, (Y O U) make up one of the most used words in the English language.
SO HOW THE HECK CAN PEOPLE SPELL IT WRONG?! Now, I understand how people can substitute "U" for "YOU", (Even though it's just an extra two letters to type.) But I've seen some pretty, erm, interesting wrong ways of spelling this word.
Some examples?
"Yu"- Really? Is the letter "O" so insignificant that you had to exclude it?It's one friggin' extra letter to type! Less than a second to save yourself from looking like an IDIOT.
"y0u"-Ah, replacing numbers for letters. It does not make you look any cooler than the rest of us.
My personal favorite..
"Yuh"-WHAT ZOMG ZOMG WHERE DID YOU GET THE LETTER H FROM?!THIS DOESN'T EVEN...OH GOODNESS... *slams head on keyboard*
Yes. I had to use ALL CAPS. Why? Because this is a problem. Sure, it may not be as big as world hunger and AIDS, but every time I see these misspellings a little part of me shrivels up and dies. It's not pleasing for the eyes and it does NOT make you look cool. So start spelling it RIGHT!
Alas, because Nerdfighters are made of awesome, I don't encounter this mishap as much on this site. Hm. Perhaps it's time for a switch?
So what I wanna know is...what do you think? Is the teenage population getting dumber? Lazier? Are those even words? Or am I just an over obsessed freak?
DFTBA
