I don't get why they changed the name of that in America. It's Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone here in England. Did they dumb it down or something? No offence, by the way I don't think it NEEDED dumbing down.

I don't know. I'd have liked the title "Philosopher's Stone" just as much. I guess they put "Sorcerer" because it sounds cooler for the kiddies? Maybe?

The Day The Earth Stood Still

Worst. Movie. Ever.
I never thought I would find myself saying this, but Keanu Reeves' acting was the best part of the movie. Yeah, I know. It was that bad (ok, Jennifer Connelly did an alright job, too).
But seriously, The entire movie was just a lame vehicle for pacifist and environmentalist propaganda...and poorly written propaganda at that. So, although the message was good, the execution was terrible.
If you're going to make a movie that's trying to make a statement, you might want to first consider making a movie that people actually want to go see, or else you've defeated the whole purpose.
It's the kind of film that makes you apathetic towards environmental and social causes because it uses so many bad cliches to get it's point across.

The ending confused me, I was like "Wait, its finished??"
Nothing was explained, like whether it worked, or what happened to the Earth and the humans. And I think I was asleep when the Earth actually stood still =S
