London Meet-up! June 2!

Hey there ningfriends! This thread is exactly as the title indicates. I'm an art student from Canada studying art history here in the UK for the summer (my residence is in Old Harlow, Essex), and as I come from a small place with one other nerdfighter that I know of there's nothing I'd like more than to have a little gathering while I'm here.

I know this is fairly short notice, unfortunately my schedule here is created by our prof on a day-to-day basis and everything is subject to change. June 2nd happens to be one of our few days off that's set in stone weeks in advance. 

That said, I'd really like to meet up with some nerdfighters, even if it's only a handful. I'm thinking we do a day of all-ages fun and if the older folks are more inclined we could head to a pub afterwards for a bite and a pint, perhaps?

If any locals who want to get involved have suggestions for activities/locations ideal for a meet-up, please inform me! I can poke at my prof about it, but I think the best feedback would come from fellow nerdfighters. So please respond and pass the word along, and let's have a great time together!

It's a saturday, yep! We spend the majority of our time here at galleries but I am always 100% down to go again! Camden seems like it'd be fun but maybe not with a group around that time? It's close to the Jubilee and it's gonna be summer time and last time our class went it was really hard to keep groups together...haha. Art galleries is definitely an awesome idea, though. The Tate Britain and National Portrait Gallery have really awesome free exhibits on.

Meeting up for me would be best at Liverpool St. Station, but I know the underground fairly well so it's no big deal if people want to meet elsewhere. For meeting time, how about 12-1 in the afternoon?

Update: we will be hitting up the Canadian bar for poutine at some point, because it is something the world outside of Canada needs to experience.

Crap crap - really last minute update and I apologize! I was originally supposed to have a group of four to travel with into London so I'd be able to afford the travel cost, but it turns out our prof here is having a bbq and nobody's heading into London tomorrow (which was all decided today! D:).

The good news is that I'm definitely going to be there on the 5th because a huge group of us is heading in to tour the Harry Potter filmsets, so I'll definitely be in the city that day and can meet up! I think Jess is the only other person going though, but anybody who sees this and last minute decides to meet up on Tuesday, drop a line!

Seems like the Jubilee is way crazier than I anticipated! It's been so hard to be in communication. That said, we can always try again at a better time, when I get back from my break I'll be in London every second day again until July 17!
