Looking For Alaska Essay Help

Soo,

for my english lit coursework this year I have to pick two books and write a question (critically it has to be a deep and thought provoking one) then I get to answer the question.

My problem is I really want to do Looking For Alaska as one of the books but the one I compare it to has to be written 30yrs before.

I can't think of anything that is similiar but different enough :( and I kinda need your help

Also if anyone has any other awesome books I could study instead of alaska feel free to post them too (preferably with another one as a pair type thing)
