A Dirty Job by christopher moore is awesome!!
The two Peeps books by Scott Westerfeld are some of my favorite vampire fiction. It's pretty dramatically different from Bram and Rice and Blade, but it's really great fiction. Fascinating all the way around, compelling stories and characters, with a secret past that just works really well for me.
You beat me to it, Hank. *raises fists threateningly*

I think Peeps is an interesting book because it looks at vampirism scientifically. It treats it more as a disease or parasite than a curse. It's awesome.

I still have to read the second one though...
Hmm, scientifically? I'm not sure if I'd like that. Isn't the whole point of vampirism that there is a certain magic to it?
Magic is just situation that scientists haven't come up with a theory yet. I like Peeps books.
wow, hank green, you actually comment on these forums....this is the first time i've ever seen it, or maybe i've never noticed before? thanks, i'm always intrigued by unusual books.
I think Angel (Buffy spinoff) has a comic series. If you like Joss Weadon.

I also love Peeps, as Hank mentioned.

I seem to recall a lot of vampire stories in the Fear Street books by RL Stine...ah, the 90s. I'm not sure if you can find those anymore.

Also, they might be a little adult, 'cause they're "vampire romance novels", but my friend loves the Midnight Breed. Like Kiss at Midnight, Kiss of Crimson, Midnight Awakening...etc...she didn't tell me the author though.
oh...thanks anyway.
Well if you want some old school vampire that isn't Ann Rice you could always read Salems Lot by Stephen King.
Is that actually any good? Cos some Stephen King...he just seems to rattle 'em off.
'Salems Lot, Carrie, and The Stand are the only books you need to read by King.
