Ann Rice is a huge vampire novelist, she has many a book about wonderful vampires. I reccomend Interview with a Vampire.

you could also start the buffy comics i hear they are good
yeah, i might try that....i kind of got put off the buffy comics because of the stupid tv series.
I haven't read it, but I too hear Interview with a Vampire is good.
so far, everyone likes that..i should read it, it must be good.
It's kind of a double-edged sword with Anne Rice. I've only read Interview with a Vampire, and it is very intriguing but it at times got to be so lengthy and arduous to read I felt I needed to take breaks from it. The lack of chapter breaks (and I mean complete lack thereof) made reading more difficult because I found myself not really finding a comfortable place to stop
Much love for Anne Rice. Her books are kinda addictive! I like The Vampire Lestat better than Interview, but it's the second in the series so you should probably read Interview first.
okay, i'll do that..lestat is a nice name.
Interview with a Vampire: I guess it depends on how much classic scary vampireness you are willing to take. While I've never personally read it, my mom, who falls somewhere in the middle of scare-tolerance, says that she can't watch the movie version without changing the channel.

If you do like classic, scary vampires, try Salem's Lot by Steven King. Those I know who have read it say that its the kinda stuff that causes you to keep the lights on at night...months after you finish the book.

If you aren't into scare-your-pants-off-but-still-sexy-classic-sorta-creepy vampires, try the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlain Harris (Dead until Dark, Dead in Dallas, Dead as a Doornail...etc.). It's a mix of awesome vampires, plus a variety of other characters (fairies, shapeshifters, werepanthers). And, if you get HBO, you can see the T.V series based on the books, True Blood.

Hope my ranting helps in your search!
The film of Interview with the Vampire is quite gory/graphic. But really awesome since it stars Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Antonio Banderas and Christian Slater XD.
Another Anne Rice... Lestat! I haven't read it since middle school, back in the 90's, but I liked it then.
you suck by christopher moore, he's amazingly funny
This. So hard. I read several chapters of this and it was thoroughly entertaining.
