In Will Grayson, Will Grayson, David's will hates the term "lol." He thinks its dumb because no one is actually laughing out loud.

Well, will, when I type lol, I actually am laughing out loud. For the people who aren't, I recommend "loi," meaning "laughing on inside."

Who of you is actually laughing? And do you think its as dumb as will?

I don't see anything wrong with saying "lol" even if you're not being completely literal. The point is that you find it funny and that's what "lol" conveys.

And personally, I never laugh out loud, simply because that's not my laugh. My natural laugh is just a silent exhale through the nose or a snort. Just because I'm not laughing out loud doesn't mean I don't find it funny, and just because I find something funny doesn't mean I have to laugh out loud...

However, I also support "lqtm" -- laughing quietly to myself.
I HATE it. Don't know why. just do.
lshmsfoaidmt= Laughing so hard my sombrero fell off and I dropped my Taco.
Yeah I don't do this either. I like all my text to be almost exactly what I would be saying if I was talking face to face with the person.
I prefer: CAL= Chortled a little.
