Marching/Concert Band Nerds?!

Hey guys!

I'm a marching band geek and I've played many different insturments, right now being the Mellophone in my college marching band! I just found out my field show songs yesterday and I'm super excited, but I wanted to know if anyone on here is in a band?!? Any type of band!

I played clarinet in middle school but gave it up in high school because I wanted to focus on drama. My best friend is a pretty big band nerd and because of my tendency to hang around the band room everyone assumes I'm in band. Basically everyone considers me a band nerd in spirit.

Hey! I played mellophone during marching season last fall (I'm a senior in high school) and now I'm playing French horn in concert band. :) I also play piano, and plan on being a music major next fall in college. Band nerds ftw!

I was in Marching Band my Freshman year and concert band for all four years of high school. I'm about to graduate and I have to say I'm going to miss it. We are currently doing our senior selections.(Seniors pick songs from the past four years and we play them again during rehearsal.) It beings back so many memories of all the songs we loved! Especially Apollo myth and legend. My fricken favorite!

I am a upcoming junior and a percussionist in both of my school concert and marching band. Concert for 6 years. Marching for 3, all 3 years in the pit. This coming season I will be in the drumline and I am nor happy about it. I know in most bands a pit member going into drumline is like a promotion but that is not true in my band. Pit members want to stay pit members. Most drumliners want to stay drumliners, not all through. To make matters worst, the band director I had for all my years in band is going and who know how I am is going to a different school.

I play clarinet and have been doing so for about 4 years. I was in a marching band for a year, but our school cut the program and we now hold shows that are a bit more theater-involved. I've been in three of these shows, and will be in it again this year. I would like to play for a college band, and would have joined my area's drum and bugle corps but unfortunately I don't play either of those :'O
