NaNoWriMo, anyone?

(I hope that this is in the right place...)

Anywho. Any Nerdfighters taking part in NaNoWriMo, or National Novel Writing Month, this year?

If you don't know what it is, NaNo is a little challenge founded by Chris Baty back in 1999. Your mission? Write 50,000 words in the month of November. It can be about whatever floats your boat, and there are only two rules: 1) Don't start writing before 12:00:00 AM on November 1st, and 2) You cannot partner up with another person and co-write something. Otherwise, you've got free range.

NaNo 2009 will be my third NaNo, seventh WriMo (Writing Month. As in, an event identical to NaNo, except it occurs in a different month), and I'm stoked for this year. If you're thinking about doing NaNo, I'd be glad to give you any advice you may need now or along the way in November. :)

So I've declared November NaBloWriMo and will try to blog 50k words instead. I'm on the Nano forum anyway (same username as here, only written with nn) :); ▶ Reply to This

This story just walked into my head, I think it'll be awsome, and if I can just get a good draft of it down I'll be able to turn it into something really great. :3; ▶ Reply to This

I just hit 50K and stop because I become too distracted by exams and Christmas and then I just kind of forget about the 2/3 of a novel except when I'm really bored and I pull it out only to stare at it and marvel at its suckiness.

Progress: didn't start until this afternoon and got my 2,000 words done so I'm on schedule. Maybe this time I'll fall in love with the novel so much that I will actually finish it, revise it and everything.; ▶ Reply to This
