Nerdfighter Hospitality/Roadtrip

I've had the sort of crazy idea for a while about some ambitious nerdfighter, or nerdfighters, traveling cross country only staying with other Nerdfighters who graciously open their homes to them for a night. I heard about it on Ze Frank's the Show and I think that if Sportracers can do it then Nerdfighters sure can! It'd make a really cool video blog project, and be a great way to meet other Nerdfighters. I personally can't do it at the moment because of the facts that I am underage and can't drive a car and that my parents wouldn't let me anyways, but I thought it'd still be a cool idea.

I think this is a very awesome idea!

I am in the beginning stages of buying a home at the moment, and one of the things I want most for my home is for it to be open to friends, travelers, and anyone who just needs a place to stay- so this sort of thing is right up my alley!

I love hosting get-togethers and stuff like that because I love meeting new people and providing a space for other people to meet each other!

In other words, I am all for it! What can we do to get this kind of thing organized?

I think first we'd need someone who would make the trek itself, I'm not really in a time of life to do so as I am only 15. Then we'd need to coordinate with the Trekkie (see what I did there?) and find a network of people with whom the Trekkie can stay and figure out a route for them to take. Then pack up the camera and charger cable or extra batteries and hop in the car! And the housers should make waffles or cinnamon rolls for breakfast.

This sounds like a fantastic idea! But I think it would be a lot more fun if there were multiple nerdfighters traveling together because solo road trips sort of suck. Maybe if we arranged something so that people could kind of switch off so that they don't have to travel the whole trip if they don't want to? And I think we'd have to postpone it until summer since to my understanding the majority of nerdfighters are still in high school/college. But still, sounds really fun! I'd love to participate!

Totally! I wasn't actually suggesting any certain date or time or place, just kind of throwing the idea out there in to the interweb. A solo road trip would suck. It will probably be a lot easier to find house donators than trekkies.
