Nerdfighters

The world is full of all sorts of suck. I think we all know this. I know a lot of people have more suck than others and that my suck could be considered trivial.

But, unfortunately, my life still has suck and I still really need help in defeating it.

I need legal advice from someone who knows employment laws, Michigan laws, or has any experience with tyrannical employers. Reply to this post or e-mail me at SarahThePill@gmail.com if you want the full story.

Basically, my boss extorted me and made a huge profit off of it. I'm afraid to go after her and I can't currently afford to pay for a lawyer.

PLEASE!!! Help me defeat this suck!

-Sarah

P.S.-I'm actually attaching the full story (didn't realize that was possible) so just go ahead and read it there. Then get back to me. Thanks!

First off, I've only had two jobs and both of them were quite good. In those respects, I don't really have enough experience with contracts or that kind of stuff but I know Arizona's labor laws pretty well. First off, call Human Resources. In AZ, it's illegal to not have this number posted somewhere. I assume you have similar laws. If you work at a chain of a larger company, there should be a corporate number to call, and they really want to hear if managers are being illegal.

I don't know what to say about your contract other than read it carefully, whatever it says goes. If you signed it, there's really no getting around it. If your manager is any kind of rational, you might try just talking to her about the contract. If that isn't going to work, definately go to HR. Sorry if I'm not too much help! This is what I would do. If she's a repeat offender, I wouldn't be suprised if something fishy is going on.

Good Luck!
