Nerdfighters

Most people assume that nerds are bad at sport.  Are you? If you are not, what sports do you not entirely suck at?

I'm on my schools varsity dance team, and I play tennis. I am absolutely terrible at all contact sports though. I'm afraid of pain being inflicted upon me by other people.

Believe it or not..I'm a cheerleader ha. Like...complete opposite of nerd right? And I swim

I'm very, very good at basketball, significantly above average at soccer, run ( I'm so-so. I won't be winning national championships, but I'm faster than the average joe), and have started taking up martial arts, where I get tapped out by twelve-year-olds. It really varies, but basically anything that involves being fit, I'm good at. Anything that involves being graceful or flexible will see me crashing into anything that comes near me- or, if there's nothing nearby, myself.

I am ok at sports. I used to run track during the fall last year, and ran late 6 minute to early 7 minute miles, but I wasn't at the top of the pack, since I am so much better at sprinting than I am long distance, but the coach wouldn't let me sprint. I played baseball for 7 years, and was  heavy hitter, the fastest sprinter, and had a far throwing arm, but I wasn't that great at aim, with the bat or the ball, so I wasn't at the top of the pack, again.

I played soccer for a year or two, and I think I never scored a goal, I just ran around, following the ball, and failing to get it, and hopefully, possibly getting in the way of the other players.

Now, basketball, I sucked at. Being the fastest sprinter doesn't always help. I think I scored on average about 2 points per year...

The sports that I think I am great at have to do with wheels, such as mountain biking, normal biking, BMX racing, or car racing in maybe go-karts if I could. With BMX, I was ok at it, but never won a race. I have 2 2nd place trophies, which is I guess ok if there are usually 6-8 people in a race, usually.

Due to illness I am currently not anymore, but for over ten years I rode horses. I jumped and did Dressage. :)

Contrary to popular belief, the horses do not do all of the work! xD  I miss it so much!

I like to swim. I was a lifeguard for a while. I also run a blog.

Running a blog should definitely count as a sport. :P

i am somewhat good at sports. I'm not terrible but i'm not the best  in my classes. lets just say that i am out of the last 5 chosen :P

i've sort of said this elsewhere, but it probably needs to be said a bunch more: while i'm so bad at game it's not even funny, saying you can't be a nerd if you're athletic is being at least as bad as those who think they're insulting us by calling us nerds and excluding us from some other group.

so for anyone who hasn't watched John's latest vlog yet (maybe you're busy... or your sound/vid is having issues like mine has been) or the event itself...which happens, Jenni Pinches has proven this point better than anyone.

Yes, I most certainly am bad at sports, something that I used to be ashamed of, but that nerdfighteria has taught me to take pride upon. I am, although, pretty bad-ass at badminton. And I'm a big fan of Trivial Pursiut, which is totally a sport.
Oh! And by the way I took a jog once.

I love sports :) although I am not amazing at any sport i love playing and watching most sports, I am a very big arsenal fan and I love the Olympics this year. I love Jenni Pinches officially. I lost 3 stones last year in 6 months which I'm very proud of!  When I go to Uni this September (studying BSc Forensic Biology) I am planning to join to American football team, rowing club and maybe kick boxing even though I have never tried these sports I think I will be good at them as I'm the right build for American football and rowing :) p.s. GO TEAM GB
